My first port of call was Rannoch moor in order to photograph Buachaille Etive Mor (Picture 1) like all the other photographers who have preceded my to this part of the world. Taking the Corran ferry cuts out a lot of driving and the subsequent road to Lochaline affords splendid views of the Pap of Glencoe (Picture 2).

From Lochaline, the ferry took me to Mull where I headed straight for Iona and its abbey (Pictures 3&4). The island offers good scenery; coracle beach (Picture 5) is of particular importance being St Columba's landing place.

Mull's scenery is at its most dramatic in its south-western quarter around Ardmeanach (Picture 6), although Tobermory (Picture 12) should not be ignored totally. |

Leaving Mull, I headed for Skye via Mallaig taking the opportunity to see a little more of the Morvern peninsula (Picture 13). |
