Photographers

Some photographers manage to make a full-time living out of their pictures. For this, I fully admire them. Their work has informed either my style or the locations I choose, and in one case actually convinced me to start taking photographs with a large format camera. Some of the better known names include (in alphabetical order):

Ed Collacott,

The large format camera I use (a Toyo45A) has had its bellows replaced in 2006 and I can recommend the work carried out by Camera Bellows in Birmingham (UK).
I get all my printing done at BPD Photech, whose work I can recommend.
Large-format camera enthusiasts will be delighted to know there is a website that caters for their needs. Visit the UK large-format photography group if you fancy a social life as well as a large photographic one. Twice-yearly meetings and a friendly atmosphere.
Up in the Outer Hebrides, the best accommodation experience is offered by the Gatliff trust: simple, cheap and in wonderful locations.
